Hello Beautiful,
I hope you took some time to digest last week’s blog post + perhaps some of the daily invitations in my social stories where I shared some great ways to increase your self love.
I invite you to ask yourself, are you loving yourself more fully + expansively? Are you loving yourself with more of your heart + soul? Are you sharing your love inwards to yourself in words of support, trust, compassion, intimacy + peace? Are you being more present with yourself?
I hope you are feeling a shift within you. It may be minute but it may also be mammoth. Either way please keep going.
Self love is an inside job. It’s not something that anyone can create + do for you. Self love is something that someone can hold for you. For instance, I can hold the belief for you that I see you as the magnificent, amazing woman that you truly are even if your vision of yourself isn’t quite there yet. And I do see you as that magnificent amazing woman 😉 🎉
Self love is something that takes daily work + daily practice. It’s not easy. And I know it’s not easy because it’s a journey I’ve walked myself, using these exact tools to build my own self love while others in my orbit held the vision of it for me.
For me, the biggest shifts came in the smallest actions + thoughts done ALL. DAY. LONG.
Increasing self love is self work. You have to be hyper-aware of every thought you think that is not supportive of magnifying your self love + when you have that awareness, that non-supportive thought, choosing another thought that’s more supportive + that will, in time, become a your truest belief in creating self love for yourself.
I can share from my own journey that it’s work worth doing because when you can override the thoughts you think all day long that are unloving, unkind + unsupportive (which you’ll find is most of your thoughts once you begin to observe them) + you choose a new, loving, supportive thought pattern, you are making progress in your self love journey.
I found having affirmations to be helpful. Making them clear, concise + easy for me to remember is best + it makes them easy to quickly substitute for any unsupportive thought you might have.
Examples are:
I love myself.
I love my body.
I love my mind.
I love who I am.
I am beautiful inside + out.
I am strong.
I trust myself.
I am perfect exactly as I am.
I am becoming the best version of me.
I reclaim my power.
I am a shield that negativity bounces off of.
I control my life.
Everything is working out for me.
I am peace + peace is my superpower.
Say any of these that resonate for you out loud or silently in your mind. Write them on the mirrors in your home, office + car. Post them on post-it-notes everywhere that you can see. Create reminders in the calendar of your phone that will appear with the affirmations you love + are working to deepen your belief of. Create mantras out of any of them. Record them in a voice memo that you can play back for yourself to hear.
There are so many ways to use them that work + only one way that doesn’t + that one way that doesn’t work is not using them at all + living under the crippling weight of not loving yourself.
This world needs all women to be living + loving ourselves fully.
Join me in fully loving yourself + know that til you do I’m here holding the belief of self love for you + I’m cheering you on 🎉
Audaciously,
Sharon xo
